DIY Display Plates

I taught this class back in January and always intended to post some of the pictures but I am glad I waited, because, I finally hung mine up in my Kitchen!

If you would like to give it a try, go grab some clear plates from World Market. Collect some emphemara, paper scraps, book pages, etc and you'll need a foam paint brush and Mod Podge. That's it! Just seal the pieces and scraps onto the back of the plate with the Mod Podge. When you are happy with your design, sand the edges of the plate and let it dry overnight.

I have always had mis-matched dishes and so I had lots to choose from to add to my hand-crafted plates on the wall. Here is the finished product! All hung next to my spice cabinet, with my vintage bottles on top. I think it turned out just how I'd imagined! Of Course, my favorites are the birdie plates I found at West Elm, my favorite home decor store.
